The more you should work on your dissertation the more interesting you will find anything else… Well, at least this is happening right now for me. I just browse around and since i write about blogs in my dissertation i thought i just check out some other blogs… This is of course a really good way of distraction and pretending to do actual work.. But i keep telling myself it might actually do my work good haha 😀
Well, i found something interesting on a German blog about SEO and website-optimization. Impressive what you can do with Photoshop and a bit scary when you actually think about this video.. Zuckerberg as a money lusting vampire?!
I just handed in the proposal for my master dissertation and thought since i intend to finish my dissertation in 2 months from now on i should start looking for jobs.
This is definitely easier said then done. Well i’m not that fussy when it comes to my first job. I don’t care where i am going next, therefore all around the world is fine with me. However, even the entry level positions nowadays require an experience from 1-5 years. Really? How are you supposed to have that much experience when you just graduate. I mean of course, you can do internships and stuff (which i did!), but still an average of 2 years experience minimum required is not really what a graduate has to offer. Oh well, i think i first have to look for another internship then, or maybe a trainee program.
Therefore, apart from writing my dissertation i just keep on searching for jobs… Fingers crossed 🙂
Second post here it is!
As mentioned before, I am going to focus on corporate blogging in my dissertation. Basically everything what comes with social media is in my area of interest. The most however I am interested in SEO and web analytics, but after reading for days I could not really find a specific topic which I could actually investigate in my study. I remembered that I was just looking before at corporate blogs and that, for one of my internships, I was helping to develop a corporate blog. This is a major decision for a company as it can be an easy target for critics. Companies need to take into account all kinds of elements. What to write about? Industry, company or product related? Or other topics for example about their CSR activities? In what name? Single or multiple authors? etc etc..
I had a look around and not many studies were conducted before in this area, and if, most of them were carried out in the US. This gave me the idea of conducting a study about corporate blogs in Germany. Of course, in the US they are always one step ahead and having a corporate blog in the communication mix is a “must have”. But is this the case in Europe (and in Germany) as well?
I will find out…. 🙂
